Kazakh National Medical University named after Asfendiyarov (KazNMU) was founded in 1930. The teaching staff consists of more than 1,700 professors and researchers. KAZNMU has 10,000 students and postgraduates from Kazakhstan and abroad. Fields - life sciences, health sciences, pharmacy, pharmaceutical manufacturing technology, management and nursing programs at all levels from undergraduate to master's and doctoral programs. KazNMU was recognized by the Ministry of Health as the first medical university of Kazakhstan in 2016.
KAZNMU is a scientific and educational complex that includes 7 academic buildings, a practical skills center, a testing center, a library, 2 anatomical museums, and a research institute of fundamental and applied medicine. The pediatric department has 4 departments, including neonatology, pediatric diseases, pediatric surgery, and pediatric infectious diseases. KAZNMU participates in more than 90 local contracts with medical organizations and has a university polyclinic with 500 beds. She has her own children's hospital "Aksai". A cooperative consortium was established between KAZNMU and the Scientific Center of Pediatrics and Pediatric Surgery, and an agreement was signed with the Children's City Clinical Hospital No. 2.
The Office of International Cooperation was established in 2001. Various international contacts, agreements and memoranda were signed with 108 universities from 27 countries, including 21 prestigious universities included in the QS World University Rankings. KAZNMU participated in more than 40 research projects, including Tempus and Erasmus.
